En Casa, En Pilar

I have gone twice now to an English class with my mother and my sister. My mother teaches some of the classes at the institute and two of my sisters take them. I have really really enjoyed going to these classes and helping out - finally my native language is of some use in my life!! It is fun to see all of the students working. I think most people here are always in for a good joke and a reason to laugh together :).

Yesterday, I met some of my sister Patricia's closest friends. We drank terere, played a card game, and snacked. I enjoyed drinking the terere and the whole experience was fun, even if I couldn't understand everything that was going on. >>>

Tonight I have an AFS welcome and goodbye party for the students in my area. Additionally, on Sunday, I have an open house to meet everyone, both family and friends.

I just got done eating breakfast... let me just say, dulce de leche and the coffee here are probably two of my new favorite things!!
